Multi-storey housing is to be built on Sykhiv: members of the executive committee will meet at the site of future construction
A multi-storey residential building is to be built at 26 Uhurska Street in Lviv. It will be up to 12 storeys, but the terraced volume, where the floors are reduced, will be up to 20 storeys. This was announced by Anton Kolomeytsev, the chief architect of Lviv, during a meeting of the executive committee of the Lviv City Council today, 21 June. Members of the executive committee will organise an offsite meeting to understand all the details of the future facility.
The Department of Architecture and Spatial Development of the Lviv City Council received an application for the new construction of a multifunctional building with built-in public premises, residential construction on the upper floors and an underground car park at 26 Uhurska Street in Lviv.
“We are talking about the formation of a higher-rise building in the Sykhiv district. This decision was considered within the city’s urban planning council, argued by the architects, as a local accent, because this place has an intersection of public transport, appropriate stops, in fact, a transport hub. This location is accentuated by a building with a slightly higher number of storeys than the neighbouring one, although there is an equally tall office centre and residential buildings opposite,” says Anton Kolomeytsev.
The building will have a bulk of 10-12 floors, but the terraced volume, where the floors are reduced, will be up to 20 floors. The first two floors will have a public and commercial function, and the following floors will have residential apartments.
There are 87 apartments, 78 parking spaces in the underground car park and 10 parking spaces within the site. There will also be open spaces next to the building for various functions. The shelter will be able to accommodate 400 people.
“We have received a letter of guarantee to locate a pre-school within the facility. Also, the entrepreneurs are ready to finance the development of municipal infrastructure in the amount that was in force in accordance with their investment commitments until 2020,” added Anton Kolomeytsev.
“It is important to pay attention to security issues and work on them. That is why I propose to hold an offsite meeting of the Executive Committee members to make sure that all processes are understood,” said Andriy Moskalenko.
