Bridge over the Western Bug: monolithic slab installation completed!

Concreting was carried out in two stages. The second is the largest. Today, 1340 m2 of monolith have been poured during the day. We used 314 m3 of concrete.
To ensure the continuity of the process, the work started at 6 am and lasted until the evening.
The installation of a monolithic slab is a difficult and responsible job, so the entire bridge team gathered at the construction site.
The quality control of the concrete mix is three-stage. The manufacturer’s laboratory, technical supervision from the customer, and specialists from Avtomagistral-Pivden’s own laboratory.
So the result should be perfect,” the company emphasized.
The bridge in Sokal (Sokal – Stoyaniv road) was built in 1951. Four years ago, it was recognized as an emergency.
Two years ago, one of the pillars sagged, and a weight limit of 7 tons was set for freight traffic.

There is no point in repairing the bridge. It is falling apart before our eyes, which is clearly visible in the photo. It is impossible to postpone the project until after the war, as the local community will be left without a road connection.
Therefore, the company is building a new bridge nearby. The length of the new bridge crossing is 130 meters. Taking into account the new entrances, it is 414 meters.
