Yesterday, January 16, in the USA, on the second competitive day of the World Winter Universiade, a single mixed biathlon relay was held.
The representative of Lviv Oblast, Yulia Horodnyi, together with Stepan Kinash from Kharkiv Oblast, managed to show the third result in this competitive discipline. Only the Czechs and the French were ahead of the Ukrainians.
18-year-old Yulia Horodna is an athlete of the Lviv Regional Olympic Training Center in Novoyavorivsk. Previously, she mastered biathlon at the “Yantar” children’s and youth sports school.
We will remind, in total, 61 athletes from Ukraine are performing at the World Universiade, 6 of whom are pupils of Lviv sports.
By the way, the reconstruction of the shooting range of the regional Olympic training center in Novoyavorivsk started last year, a project that we are implementing in partnership with the Novoyavorivsk community. After the reconstruction, it will be another center for the development of biathlon not only in the Lviv region, but also in the west of Ukraine in general.
