On February 15, Boryslav Vocational Lyceum opened a Training and Practical Center for Welding Professions.
The lyceum has created a modern educational space for on-the-job training, retraining, advanced training, and the provision of services by the educational institution in the welding field.
The total cost of the project is over UAH 4 million. Of this amount, more than UAH 3.8 million was provided by the Lviv Regional Education Agency under the Lviv Oblast Education Development Program from the regional budget. These funds were used to overhaul the workshop, purchase equipment and materials.
The contribution of the special fund of the Boryslav Vocational Lyceum amounted to UAH 120 thousand.
Oleg Paska, Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv Regional State Administration, took part in the opening of the Training and Practical Center for Welding Professions.
“It is important that in times of war, when our boys and girls are defending Ukraine at the front, we have a common understanding that even in such circumstances we must take care of the development of national education. Last year, more than UAH 40 million was invested in the development of training and practical centers in vocational education institutions in Lviv region. And today we have a result. I would like to thank the staff of the Boryslav Vocational Lyceum and its director, Ihor Stechkevych, for this project,” said Oleh Paska, director of the Education and Science Department of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
He also emphasized two key components of vocational training:
– We need to create all the conditions for our children to become good professionals;
– we need to raise them to be decent citizens, so that they “live in Ukraine”.
“Then they won’t want to go abroad, and this is something we all have to work on together,” emphasized Oleg Paska.
The guests of the lyceum were given a tour of its workshops, and teachers, craftsmen and students of the institution held master classes.
“This center will enable us to train skilled workers in welding professions. The children will be trained on modern high-quality equipment, which will allow them to fully master various types of complex welding operations. We also have an agreement with the Employment Center that we will organize retraining and advanced training courses for the public on the basis of the Center. This is an additional source of income for the special fund of our institution,” said Ihor Stechkevych, acting director of the Boryslav Vocational Lyceum.
We would like to add that this is the 45th training center operating in the Lviv region. In particular, a modern Training and Practical Center for Operators of Civilian Unmanned Aerial Vehicles was recently opened at the Higher Vocational School #11 in Chervonohrad.
