In the Chervonograd district, the tributary of the Western Bug – the Krasnosilka River – will be regulated

In the Chervonohrad district, the Krasnosilka River, which flows through several territorial communities, will be regulated. The project will be implemented with the help of an international grant.

As reported by the State Agency of Water Resources of Ukraine, the project “Restoration of the ecosystem of a small river – a path to the long-term development of the community and the well-being of the local population” will give communities the opportunity to start the process of ecological restoration of the river.

Revitalization of the river involves the restoration of watercourses to their original natural state: restoration of the natural riverbed, removal of obstacles, clearing of siltation in the riverbed for a better hydrobiological regime and improvement of the river.

The project will be implemented for three months by the non-governmental organization “Center for Democratic Youth Development “Synergia” with the cooperation of the Water Resources Basin Management of the Western Bug and Syan Rivers, the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Lviv Regional State Administration, and three local communities. Financial support is provided by the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine within the framework of the small grants program of the “Insure” project from WWF-Ukraine.
