“Okhmatdyt” hospital reported to the grantors about the use of funds for the repair of departments

With the financial support of the charity organization CNEWA and the assistance of the Ukrainian Catholic University and Lviv OVA, the hospital renovated the departments.

Today, June 7, representatives of philanthropists visited the Lviv Regional Clinical Children’s Hospital “OKHMATDYT”, in particular, the president of the CNEWA charitable organization Monsignor Peter Vaccari, the national director of CNEWA in Canada, Dr. Adriana Bara and Anna Dombrovska, the administrator of CNEWA projects in Canada, the head of the development department of the Ukrainian of the Catholic University – Andrii Kurochka, as well as the deputy head of Lviv OVA Ivan Sobko.

The guests viewed the results of renovation in the hospital, as well as the premises, which are still under renovation.

In general, it was possible to repair the facade of the hospital building, three departments of the hospital: the reception, the clinic for the treatment of older children and post-convulsive conditions, and the post-intensive care department. The fourth department, rehabilitation, is still at the stage of completion. Rehabilitation and diagnostic equipment was also purchased and the hot and cold water supply system was reconstructed.

“We want to continue our work with our partners. To bring hope. I want to involve even more donors to help understand the uniqueness and extraordinaryness of human life. Thank you to all the employees of the Ohmatdyt Hospital, said Monsignor Peter Vaccari, the president of the CNEWA charitable organization, after visiting the hospital.

“We are grateful for the amount of this grant, it is approximately 6 million hryvnias. We are grateful to the Catholic University, which facilitated the receipt of this grant. And we are personally grateful to Maksym Kozytsky, on whose recommendation these funds were allocated, actually, for the reconstruction of our clinic. Thank you for such trust.

We are now at the stage of completing the renovation of the rehabilitation unit. It will be made according to all modern European standards. Our hospital signed three packages this year. We have a queue of children for rehabilitation. This is a very necessary thing. We hope that this project will not end there,” said hospital director Dmytro Kvit.

Ivan Sobko, the deputy head of the Lviv OVA, thanked the benefactors for their support and cooperation and emphasized that the regional government is always open to dialogue, which is meant to translate into real cases.

“The war forced us to set priorities correctly. Children deserve high-quality medicine, and we thank the donors for being with us at such a time, and are proud that there is such cooperation,” added Ivan Sobko.

It should be noted that the renovation of the branches took place with the assistance of the Ukrainian Catholic University.

“As a university, we are not only for education. Especially, in such a difficult time. Going outside, working outside is very important. I promise, this is not the last project we managed to do. Medicine and education are very important things. This is how we heal the country,” emphasized Andriy Kurochka, head of the UCU development department.
