The pride of Yavorivshchyna. Biathlete Olena Horodna won bronze in the relay at the Junior World Championships
The World Junior Biathlon Championship started yesterday in Kazakhstan. On the very first day of the competition, the Ukrainian team with a representative of Lviv Oblast won the bronze award. The fourth place in the mixed relay among girls and boys was won by a foursome consisting of Olena Horodnaya, Oleksandra Merkushyna, Bohdan Borkovsky and Mykhailo Khmil. Olena Horodna is an 18-year-old athlete from the Lviv Regional Olympic Training Center in Novoyavorivsk.
“We were nervous, but we believed until the end that everything would work out and we would win, which is so important for us and our country now,” Horodna commented after the race. And today Olena showed a high result in the individual race, entering the top 10 biathletes.
