Last week, the Ukrainian judo championship among juniors under 21 and cadets was held in Lviv region. More than 700 participants from different parts of Ukraine competed for the awards.
The best were determined at the Training and Sports Base of summer sports.
“Over 700 participants at the national championship. At a time when the war is going on. When many families went abroad with their children. This is a result you can be proud of. It is about the fact that sport lives. That we do everything in order to preserve the most valuable resource – human. That our children, despite stress and constant worries, choose the right leisure time. This is what makes me want to thank the coaches, parents and the athletes themselves,” said the head of the youth and sports department of Lviv OVA Roman Khim’yak.
On Wednesday, February 22, awards were drawn among the juniors. Here, the national team of Lviv Oblast won the third step of the podium in the overall team standings. The champion of the competition was 19-year-old Olga Tsymko, who competed in the weight category up to 70 kg. Nikita Beregulsky became the vice-champion in the weight category up to 100 kg. Bronze medals were won by Andrii Kaminskyi in the weight up to 60 kg and Bohdan Tsysar in the weight up to 81 kg.
On Thursday, February 23, national championship awards among cadets under 18 years of age from 23 regions of Ukraine. Two representatives of the Lviv Oblast won medals here. Danylo Fedoryk became the champion in the weight category up to 66 kg. Maxim Parkhomenko won bronze in the same weight category.
