The future sniper of the “Lyut” brigade from the Lviv region: Our goal is to return the Ukrainian territories captured by the invaders

Fighters of the newly created unified assault brigade of the National Police of Ukraine “Lyut” after completing the stages of competitive selection undergo training in pre-medical medicine, fire and tactical training.

Before starting the practical training, the volunteers successfully passed all the stages of the competitive selection for the assault brigade: testing the level of logical and analytical thinking and professional knowledge, the military medical commission, checking the level of physical training and an interview.

“I am 24 years old, at one time I served in the army, and when I found out about the recruitment to the newly created assault brigade “Lyut”, I immediately submitted the documents. Passed all stages of selection and began practical training. My future specialty is a sniper, as I have the right qualities – I am agile, durable, can concentrate, shoot accurately and have the skills I learned during my service in the army. Our common goal is to defeat the enemy in the shortest possible time and return all captured Ukrainian lands,” said a volunteer of the Schumacher unit.

“This is the first training group in the Lviv region that started practical classes. All trainees are motivated and goal-oriented, and teachers try to identify the best qualities of each future fighter and develop them. We started with the main disciplines – pre-medical, fire and tactical training. First of all, we will teach the fighters to provide first aid to themselves – we are talking about clubbing, knife and shrapnel wounds, then – to fire from the main types of weapons, which will certainly be necessary during combat missions and tactical training – working in groups, mopping up premises and performance of complex tasks. In the future, we will also teach other military wisdom”, – said the acting officer. Head of the Lviv Oblast Police Training Center, Police Major Mykola Kopylchak.

“When the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine began, the first panic passed and I came to understand that something must be done for our victory. Someone volunteered, someone donated, someone molded dumplings, spun nets, and I decided for myself – to defend the state and my family with a weapon in my hands. I was rejected at the Military Commissariat, but when a person really wants something, the whole world helps him. On the Internet, I first saw an announcement about pre-medical training, which I had completed, and then I was told about recruitment into the assault brigade “Lyut”. At that time, I was already a member of a voluntary formation for the protection of the territorial community. On the same day, I took advantage of this chance – I filled out the questionnaire, I was invited to the selection stages, which I passed and now – study at the training center. In our group, we are very united and I feel a lot of support from my friends. In the future, I plan to concentrate on medicine, but this will be determined during the training process,” said Larisa Borshch, a former personnel manager and the only female volunteer of the “Lyut” brigade.

We will remind you that the unified assault brigade of the National Police of Ukraine “Lyut” is a paramilitary unit of the Special Purpose Police Department of a new model, designed to repulse and deter armed aggression against Ukraine. The “Lyut” brigade consists of two assault regiments, a special purpose battalion, an artillery regiment and a special operations company. The formation of the brigade will continue until April 1. Volunteers who want to join can submit an application on the website storm.mvs.gov.ua or through the Centers for the provision of administrative services.
