Heavenly photographer. An exhibition of photos of a fallen soldier will be opened in Lviv

On June 2, a personal photo exhibition of Maksym Burda “Heavenly Photographer” will be opened in Lviv – a famous photographer from Volyn, a soldier who died near Bakhmut.

Before the full-scale invasion, Maksym was a civilian photographer, and since February 24 he became a volunteer. During military exercises and being at the front, he simultaneously took photographs, created his Telegram channel with works that were repeatedly published on his pages in the social networks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and used by the mass media in publications.

“The works presented at the exhibition can be conditionally divided into two categories. The first one concerns those photos that were taken during 2022, when Maksym and his company were on training grounds and training. The second category already refers to 2023, when his company and he directly performed tasks in the Donetsk direction, in particular near Bakhmut,” says Maria, Maksym’s girlfriend, who, together with his mother and friends, organizes the exhibition.

The opening will take place on June 2 at 5:00 p.m. in the Lviv Palace of Arts (Lviv, 17 Kopernyka St.). The exhibition of Maxim’s works will be open until July 2. This is the fourth city that the photo works will visit, before that the exhibition was in the native city of Koveli; Ostrog, where Maxim studied; in Kiev. Also, in parallel, a photo exhibition is being prepared in the city of Chambly (USA).

Maksym Burda is a well-known Volyn photographer who voluntarily defended Ukraine on February 24. Died near Bakhmut on January 26, four days before his 26th birthday. On March 14, 2023, the President of Ukraine posthumously awarded Maxim with the Order “For Courage” of the III degree.
