Already on Monday, June 19, the “Heritage Bureau” LKP, together with the “Garda” restoration workshop, will start a master class on the opening of historical polychromes (murals) of the landmark building on the street. I. Rutkovicha, 12. The master class itself will last from June 19-24. We invite you to join!
The house on the street I. Rutkovicha, 12 in Lviv is an architectural landmark of local importance. The residents of this building have created a very effective condominium and have already restored the twin gates, which we previously prepared a material about, within the framework of the city’s co-financing program. And now they are independently financing the restoration of the entrance.
The master class on the discovery of historical polychromes will last from June 19-24 (Mon-Sat) from 14:00-17:00.
More than 30 participants applied to participate in the master class, from which we chose the maximum number – 15. We gave preference to those who volunteered to attend the entire duration of the event. Those who were not included in the list will be able to come and observe the work process by consulting with the restorer.
“On the example of this building, we want to show a comprehensive approach to the restoration of entrances in the historical part of the city. The paintings here are not too special, but they, and stucco, and doors, and cobblestones have been preserved and should not just be repaired, but rather restored. And I am very happy that people who understand the value of restoration live in this building, who decided to finance the work of specialists themselves and restore everything in a comprehensive manner,” says restorer Iryna Girna, the founder of the “Garda” restoration workshop.
We will remind you that earlier in the Lviv Municipal Art Center, on the street Stefanyka St., 11, the opening of the exhibition “My apartment shed my skin” was held, at which transfers of historical wall paintings of Lviv from the 16th to the 19th centuries were presented and a number of educational events were held. The event was implemented in cooperation with the Lviv Municipal Art Center, LKP “Heritage Bureau” of the Department of Historical Environment Protection, KARP Restorer, restoration workshop “Garda”, Replus bureau and other popularizers of paintings on the walls and ceilings of Lviv.
