Ice on Ukraine’s bodies of water claims 126 lives
Throughout the entire winter and in the early days of March, 126 people, including 8 children, died on Ukraine’s bodies of water. In February alone, 51 people died, 6 of whom were children. This horrific statistic was shared today by the spokesperson of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, Svitlana Vodolaha, on the show Breakfast with 1+1, emphasizing that ice is a deadly trap!
Calls for Safety
- Don’t risk your life for entertainment, photos, or fishing!
- See someone in trouble? Call 101.
- Rescue only when you are confident in your abilities and know how to do it! A stick, rope, or strong belt are your helpers.
- Children, do not play on the ice!
- Parents, educate about the dangers!
- Teachers, teach safe behavior!
Only together can we stop these tragedies!
