The prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office completed the pre-trial investigation and sent an indictment to the court against four members of the organized group on the fact of illegal use of the mark for goods and services (Part 3 of Article 229 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that the defendants organized the systematic manufacture and sale of products of unknown origin under the guise of a well-known American brand of household chemicals.
Counterfeit goods were sold throughout Ukraine, including in the Lviv region.
Trade was carried out at prices lower than the average market, wholesale and retail.
During the searches, the law enforcement officers seized counterfeit products, labels, containers and other material evidence.
The material damages caused by such illegal activities are estimated at more than 230 thousand UAH, and more than 750 thousand UAH of unsold products were seized in court.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the investigators of the State Department of the State of Ukraine in the Lviv Region, under the operational support of the Criminal Investigation Department in the Lviv Region of the DPK of the National State of Ukraine.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a guilty verdict.
