As the law enforcement officers established, two residents of the Zhytomyr region, aged 23 and 39, established a channel for the illegal transportation of conscripted citizens of Ukraine of conscription age outside the state by producing for them forged documents on exclusion from military registration.
The attackers estimated their “services” in the amount of 800 to 1000 USD from each “client”. Five facts of their illegal transportation of men across the state border of Ukraine have been documented.
Residents of Zhytomyr Oblast were exposed by operatives of the criminal police and investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 together with military personnel of the State Border Service of Ukraine, under the procedural guidance of the Galicia District Prosecutor’s Office.
Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings opened under part 3 of article 332 (Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and part 3 of article 358 (Forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, sale or use of forged documents, seals , stamps) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, completed. The indictment is referred to the court.
The maximum penalty that threatens the accused is imprisonment for a term of up to nine years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years with confiscation of property.
