In the Lviv region, the police arrested an attacker on suspicion of murdering his roommate and an acquaintance
As the law enforcement officers established, the murders were committed out of jealousy. For the crime committed, the suspect faces a penalty of life imprisonment.
On the morning of March 30, the operative line 102 received a message from a 53-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Yavoriv district that he found the bodies of his 40-year-old roommate and his acquaintance – a fellow villager aged 68, without signs of life in his house.
Criminal police operatives, investigators and employees of other services of the Yavoriv district police department were involved in solving the crime.
Through the conducted measures, the law enforcement officers established that the owner of the house where the bodies were found was involved in the murders – the same man who called 102.
The day before, on March 29, around 9:00 p.m., a conflict arose between the suspect, his roommate, and his acquaintance on the basis of jealousy, during which the owner of the apartment punched and kicked his victims numerous times, causing injuries from which they died at the scene.
The perpetrator was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the investigators, under the procedural guidance of the Yavoriv District Prosecutor’s Office, informed him of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Clause 1 Part 2 of Article 115 (Intentional Murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is life imprisonment.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and soon the court will choose a preventive measure for the suspect.
