Contractor is served a notice of suspicion for stealing over UAH 270,000 during renovation of People’s House in Zolochiv district
Under the procedural supervision of the Zolochiv District Prosecutor’s Office, the contractor was served a notice of suspicion. He is charged with misappropriation of budgetary funds and forgery of official documents (Part 4 of Article 191, Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, in 2023, one of the departments of the Brody City Council held a tender for the purchase of services, which was won by the entrepreneur. In particular, he was supposed to carry out major repairs to eliminate the emergency condition of the roof of the People’s House building in Zolochiv district.
Subsequently, the contractor, knowing for a fact that he had not completed all the work, entered false information into official documents. We are talking about the acts of construction works performed, where the actual volume of work performed at the facility and its cost were overstated, which did not correspond to reality.
Thus, the company was unjustifiably transferred over UAH 270 thousand from the local budget.
Investigative actions are ongoing, all persons involved are being identified.
The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Zolochiv District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Region.
Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person shall be presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved by law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
