The 50-year-old man from Lviv faces up to ten years in prison for his crime.
On April 17, the police received a report about the body of a woman without signs of life, discovered in an apartment in one of the buildings on Horodotsky Street in Lviv. The law enforcement officers identified the deceased – she was an 83-year-old woman from Lviv, whose body showed signs of violent death, in particular, a head injury.
Detectives of the criminal police, investigators and employees of other services of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2, as well as other employees of the Lviv region police were involved in solving the crime. Through the conducted measures, the law enforcement officers established that the deceased’s bodily injuries were caused by her 50-year-old son, with whom they lived together. That day, the son hit his mother on the head, causing severe injuries from which she died.
The law enforcement officers established the whereabouts of the perpetrator, the investigators of the territorial division of the police, under the procedural guidance of the Frankiv District Prosecutor’s Office, informed him of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 2 of Article 121 (Intentional grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to ten years.
