A man in Lviv to be tried for murdering brother during a conflict
It has been established that the murder occurred during a domestic conflict – the younger brother inflicted a fatal stab to the chest of the elder brother. For this crime, he faces a sentence of up to fifteen years in prison.
Investigation and Arrest
To solve the crime and apprehend the perpetrator, Lviv’s criminal police operatives were involved together with investigators and staff from other services of Police Department No. 2 of the Lviv District Police Unit No. 2, along with Lviv police criminologists.
As established by law enforcement, on December 10, 2024, around 8 PM, in an apartment on Skoryny Street in Lviv, a conflict arose between two brothers aged 40 and 44, during which the younger brother inflicted a stab wound to the chest of the elder brother, who died from the injuries sustained.
Court Proceedings
The pre-trial investigation, opened under the procedural guidance of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office under Part 1 of Article 115 (Intentional Murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, has been completed. The indictment has been submitted for court review.
The perpetrator faces a sentence of imprisonment for a term of seven to fifteen years.
