On 6 October, around midnight, the Lviv Patrol Police received a report of an accident on the Western Bypass road in Lviv.
This was reported by the Lviv Oblast Police.
The driver of a Skoda Fabia failed to monitor the road situation, did not choose a safe speed and hit a BMW in front of him. As a result of the accident, the BMW slid into a ditch.
Fortunately, no one was injured. At the scene, patrol policemen detected signs of intoxication. There were empty bottles of alcohol in the car.
The inspectors offered the 24-year-old driver a breathalyser test. The Drager device showed a result of 2.18 ppm.
The patrol policemen drew up two reports against the driver: under Part 1 of Article 130 (Driving while intoxicated) and Article 124 (Violation of the traffic rules that led to an accident) of the CAO.
☝🏼До words, in 9 months of 2024, 173 road accidents with victims occurred in the Lviv region involving drunk drivers.
They injured 236 people and unfortunately killed 19.
