American Doctors in Lviv: Free Help for Children with Facial Anomalies

From May 18 to 23, ten medics from the USA will arrive in Lviv to provide free medical care to Ukrainian children with facial anomalies and injuries. Consultations will take place at the St. Nicholas Children’s Hospital of the First Medical Association on P. Orlyk Street, 4. Pre-registration is required to receive a consultation.

The medics will assist patients with the following conditions and anomalies:

  • cleft lips and palates;
  • congenital facial skeleton deformities;
  • vascular malformations of the head and neck;
  • head and neck tumors;
  • nose deformities, both congenital and acquired;
  • facial neoplasms;
  • mine-explosion injuries;
  • post-burn scars;
  • cosmetic defects.

After consultations, some patients will undergo surgery. The team includes plastic and maxillofacial surgeons, an orthodontist, and a dermatologist. Surgeons Steve Orten and Craig Hobar have repeatedly come to Lviv to help children.
