Lviv Surgeons Help Paralympian Vovchansky Become World Champion

Ukrainian Paralympian Hryhoriy Vovchansky earned the title of World Champion in parabiathlon just four months after surgery. Surgeons at St. Pantaleon Hospital in Lviv successfully removed Gilmore’s hernia, a common issue among athletes.

During the procedure, the damaged structures of the groin area and the leading thigh muscles were corrected. By the second day after the surgery, the patient felt relief and the pain ceased. Doctor Hnat Herych predicted that Vovchansky would become a world champion, and his words became a reality.

At the World Para Biathlon Championship in Slovenia, which took place from February 3 to 10, the athlete won gold and bronze medals. The Ukrainian national team in cross-country skiing and biathlon also took first place in the team standings.
