In Stryi, a farewell ceremony was held for cadet Roman Havryliv, whose life was tragically cut short by a heart attack while serving at the training centre.
Roman Havryliv was born on 25 June 1981 in Stryi. He graduated from local school No. 2 and then studied at Lviv Polytechnic National University. He devoted the last seven years of his life to his spiritual path, living in a monastery and preparing to become a monk.
He served as a cadet of the 2nd Training Mechanised Company of the Mechanised Battalion. On 20 February 2025, Roman passed away prematurely due to heart problems while at the training centre.
The city community expresses its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. May the Lord give you the strength to survive this difficult trial.
