The vaccine will be available tomorrow at vaccination centers in the region.
29,250 doses of “Komirnati” vaccine from “Pfizer” were delivered to Lviv region. This was reported in the Lviv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health.
We will remind that the day before, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) within the international initiative “COVAX” delivered to Ukraine 400 thousand doses of the mRNA vaccine against COVID-19 “Comirnaty” produced by “Pfizer-BioNTech”. More than 43,000 doses are planned for Lviv Oblast, but it is not yet known when the remaining doses will be delivered.
According to the Ministry of Health, the peculiarity of this batch of Comirnaty/Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is that it does not need to be diluted with saline. It is immediately ready for use, the vaccine only needs to be thawed before injection. This simplifies the work of medical professionals.
The first batch of 500,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty vaccine was delivered to Ukraine on July 23, 2022. Also, on August 4, UNICEF delivered 100,000 doses of the Janssen (Jcovden) vaccine as part of COVAX.
Coronavac and Janssen vaccines are now also available in Lviv Oblast
