In Lviv, two coffee shop workers were poisoned by carbon monoxide from a generator

This morning, in a coffee shop on Kulparkivska Street, two employees were poisoned by carbon monoxide from a working generator.

This was reported by the city department for emergency situations, civil protection and territorial defence.

In particular, the workers, aged 53 and 20, were poisoned. The victims were taken to the regional clinical hospital in moderate condition.

Representatives of the State Emergency Service emphasise that when using generators, it is worth remembering that they emit carbon monoxide, which is deadly to humans. Therefore, they can only be used in open spaces – and in no case indoors, entrances or balconies. A distance from a building must also be maintained to ensure that the combustion products are properly discharged.
